ESG
The real estate sector has a major impact on how sustainable our world is. Buildings consume large amounts of energy, generate CO₂ emissions, and at the same time determine how comfortable and pleasant it is for us to live, work, and carry out our daily lives. That is why ESG is playing an increasingly important role.
Responsible Business
- How do we limit the impact of our buildings on the climate?
- How do we create healthy, safe, and inclusive environments where people feel at home?
- How do we ensure that we operate transparently, fairly, and with a long‑term perspective?
ESG Is Not Optional — It Is a Necessity
Our tenants, shareholders, governments, and financiers expect us to take our social and sustainability responsibilities seriously. In addition, new European regulations require DW Property to be transparent about its ESG performance. Moreover, it pays off: sustainable and socially responsible buildings retain their value better, attract satisfied tenants, and contribute to a healthy living environment.
United Nations
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) form a shared agenda for a resilient and sustainable world in which economic, environmental, and social values are balanced. The Sustainable Development Goals consist of seventeen objectives aimed at making the world a better place.
DW Property supports these goals and is a member of SDG Netherlands.
Paris Agreement
The Paris Agreement is a legally binding international treaty on climate change. Its objective is to “hold the increase in the global average temperature to well below 2°C above pre‑industrial levels” and to pursue efforts “to limit the temperature increase to 1.5°C above pre‑industrial levels.”
DW Property has set the goal of achieving Net Zero by 2050.
Strategy
As a real estate investor with a long‑term vision, DW Property strives for a balanced approach between financial performance on the one hand and social responsibility and environmental objectives on the other. ESG is a strategic priority and plays an essential role in our (investment) decision‑making. We have a responsibility not only to our shareholders, but also to tenants, society, and the environment. Our mission reflects our ambition to “provide residents with well‑designed, sustainable homes in a pleasant living, working, and recreational environment.”
ESG helps DW Property build sustainable, future‑proof real estate portfolios.
